Thank you using my website, I’m hoping that has helped you and answered some of your questions.  Here is another question that you maybe haven't even asked yourself yet.

Why am I here?  and what is going on in the world? Hopefully after reading this you will have some more questions answered and perhaps have made a life changing decision.

In these turbulent and confusing times we are living in, it can be terrifying to think of what might happen next or what we need to do to prepare.

As scary as these times are though, they are nothing compared to dying without accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour.

He truly is our only hope, both in this life and in the next.

In the Bible He has told us exactly who we are, why we are here, what we should be doing, what happens next and where we will end up, both with Him and without Him.

Many people think the Bible is just a list of rules and boring genealogies, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The Bible is a LIVING book, which means that even though it is over 2400 years old, it is still just as fresh today with truths that we need to live a happy and fulfilling life.  Many have set out to disprove the Bible and instead have ended up making the life changing decision I will tell you about shortly.

If you are unfamiliar with the Bible beyond little phrases you may have heard here and there, let me give a brief rundown.

In the beginning, God created the earth. He created everything, light, water, plants, animals and mankind.

He wanted someone to fellowship with. When He created Adam and Eve, the first man and woman he gave them only one rule – There was one specific tree that they were not allowed to eat the fruit from.

In all the bounty He gave them, they still decided to break that one rule, and sin against Him, and it was then that the sin nature entered into man.  Think of sin as doing what you want instead of what God wants you to do.  God wanted them to avoid that one tree, but Eve ignored God and ate from that tree anyway.

Satan had a lot to do with that decision, but it was still Eve’s decision to take that first bite.

Hell was created for Satan and the angels that fell with him, not for mankind. But when mankind violated God’s law, hell became the punishment they would receive if they didn’t repent.

Now God is perfect and Holy, and He cannot be in contact with sin, as it would completely violate His nature. So no one can come before God if they have sinned.

God, however loved mankind and he made a way to reconcile them to Himself.  He made only one option.  He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, a perfect, sinless man, to die for the sins of all mankind.  The entire Old Testament and history of the Jewish people sends out picture after picture of a perfect sacrifice dying to atone for men's sin.  In the New Testament it is clearly depicted how Jesus, the perfect sacrifice died once, to atone for all sin.  In the garden of Eden one sin meant all men were sinners, at the cross one sacrifice meant that all men could be declared righteous.   But not all will accept the truth of this plan of God's and they will remain in their sin and continue on their course of permanent death in hell.

The really good news? We don’t have to work to earn our way to heaven – all we have to do is put our faith in Jesus, that He is God, that He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again after 3 days and is alive today.

That is it.

Many people don’t think that is enough, so they want to add all kinds of extras on to that – well yes you need to believe in Jesus, but you also need to be baptized.

You need to go to church.

You need to try and live a good life.

Those thoughts are all false – Jesus alone is the only way to heaven. All those other things come after.  When you get saved, a supernatural transformation takes place – God actually changes your heart.

Yes, you still have a sin nature, but now you have a repentant heart and the Holy Spirit inside you to help you make the right decisions.

Repentance just means a change of direction – you’ve been headed your own way in your life and to repent is to turn, and go in the other direction to follow Jesus.

When someone has truly been saved, they will WANT to read their Bible.

They will WANT to get baptized (because it is the first commandment God gives us once we are saved).  Baptism shows how we are identifying with Jesus in His death, burying (immersed under the water), and resurrection (being raised up out of the water).  If you are truly saved, (not just said a prayer), and you heart has changed and you have been reborn, you will want to take this step.

You will WANT to go to church so you can learn more about the Lord.

You will WANT to live a good life, because you want to show your love and appreciation to the Lord for saving you, so you will want to keep his commandments.

But that all happens after salvation.  None of those things do anything to help you get saved.

I’ve heard people ask – why did Jesus have to die? Why didn’t God just make us good so that none of this had to happen?

Because God didn’t want an army of robots following him. Think of your own life, and of your friends and family – would you enjoy being with them if you knew that they didn’t actually love you, but were just there because they had been programmed to be there?

Its because they have the choice, they could be anywhere they want, but they are choosing to be with you – that is what makes love special – it is a CHOICE.

That is the same love God has for us – He has CHOSEN to love us – He certainly didn’t have to.  Think how unlovable we are! I don’t mean the face we put on for others to see, but our inner man and all our deepest thoughts. You and I both know ourselves how incredibly wicked we can be.

But God loves us anyway, and He wants us to be fruitful in this life AND enjoy it!

And when we CHOOSE to love God that is when we will start to truly enjoy life.

How do you love God? By keeping his commandments – you are showing your love by doing what He says.

And interestingly, the deepest joy comes from following the Lord, and knowing that you are fulfilling His plan for your life.

The happiest people in the world are true Christians that have completely sold out for the Lord, and are living just for Him – they have joy that you can see on their face just talking to them.

Even though they have some of the hardest trials, they are still THE happiest people you will find on the planet.

If you want that happiness, I urge you with all my heart to surrender to the Lord Jesus today.

Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart and save you.

And He will!

Don’t hesitate, if you are at all unsure where you will spend eternity, just talk to God, where ever you are, right now and talk to God as though He is right beside you (which He is). You don’t have to use fancy words, just tell Him you are sorry, you realize you are a sinner, then ask Him to forgive you for your sins and tell Him that you believe in Him, that you believe He died for your sins and you want to accept His free gift of salvation.  The words you use are not important, if you have truly realized how lost you are and are truly sorry for the sins you have committed and in your heart you have come to realize Jesus Christ is the only way, and that is what you are trusting in, you will be born again, no matter which words you use when you pray.

If you have any questions about this or need help in any way, please email me at foals@manitobahorse.com  and I would love to be able to help you if I possibly can, and if you send me your address I would be happy to send you a free Bible and a book that will explain things in a little more depth than I have here.

And if you have taken these steps and believed in Jesus as your Saviour – PLEASE email me and let me know - #1 it will absolutely make my day (probably my week!) and #2 I would so love to help you get started on the right track with your new life in Jesus.
